Early Life
Innocent Idibia was born in the Nigerian city of Jos. He is a member of the Idoma ethnic group, which is found in the southern portion of Benue State, in central Nigeria. He went to Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State, for secondary education. 2Baba, also known as 2face Idibia, is a one of the best or Top Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and philanthropist. Career
The group was formed in 2000 and included members Blackface and Faze. They released two successful albums, “Body and Soul” in 2000 and “Sold Out” in 2003. Their music style was a fusion of R&B, reggae, and hip hop which resonated with young Nigerians at the time. Plantashun Boiz became one of the most popular music groups in Nigeria during their time together. They won several awards including Best Hip Hop Group at the 2003 MTV Africa Music Awards. However, after releasing their second album, they disbanded due to personal issues between members.
After the dissolution of Plantashun Boiz, 2Baba embarked on a successful solo career that saw him release several chart-topping albums. His first album as a solo artist, “Face 2 Face,” was released in 2004 and included hit singles like “African Queen” and “Nfana Ibaga.” The album was an instant success, selling over two million copies in Nigeria alone.
