Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, is a Ugandan musician, activist, and politician. He was born on February 12th, 1982 in Nkozi Hospital in Mpigi District. He began his music career in the early 2000s and gained fame for his socially conscious lyrics. In 2017, he joined politics and was elected as the member of parliament for Kyadondo East constituency. Since then, he has been a vocal critic of President Yoweri Museveni’s government and has faced numerous arrests and violent attacks by security forces. In 2021, he ran against Museveni in the presidential election but lost.
