INAT Exam 2024- Apply Online IUCAA NCRA Admission Test Date

The IUCAA – NCRA Admission Test is abridged as INAT, and it is used to gain admission to the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune and the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) in Pune in order to pursue a research scholarship for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) whether at IUCAA or NCRA-TIFR.

IUCAA provides challenging opportunities to young researchers in instrumentation, ground and space-based observations and data analysis, gravitational wave astrophysics, theoretical astrophysics, and cosmology. On the basis of eligibility, applicants can apply for this examination by filling the Application Form through online mode, and every year, many of the candidates may appear in this examination.

INAT Exam 2024- Overview

Process to fill INAT Application Form:

• First of all visit the official website of organization that is inat.ncra.tifr.res.in/INAT2022
• On home page of official site go to “Apply Online section and hit the appropriate link
• Fill online application form correctly and carefully without any mistakes.
• Upload your scanned photo and signature along with form if required.
• After completion of form check form at once and press “Submit” button.
• Take print out of form for future use.

Exam Pattern

• INAT Test Duration: 2 Hour
• Question Paper Part A, Part B, and Part C
• Part A : 17 Objective Type Questions
• Part B:  MCQ from advanced Physics, Mathematics and Electronics/Engineering.
• For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded
• For each wrong answer, –1 mark will be awarded.
• Part C shall ask 6 questions from both basic and advanced studies in the above subjects.
• The answer to questions in Part C will be integers of 3 digits.
• For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded.
• There is no negative marking for wrong answers in Part Candidates qualified in the written test shall be called to appear for TWO INTERVIEWS.

INAT 2024 Counselling

The counseling timetable would be disclosed once the results are announced. Registration begins with counselling and concludes with reporting to assigned institutions for document verification. To participate in the counselling round, applicants must first register online. After registering, they would have to complete out the course and college selection forms. Admission would be granted based on the choices made, seat availability, reservations, and other factors.

Selection Procedure:

We are looking for highly motivated students with a consistently good academic record. While we strongly encourage students from engineering backgrounds to apply for INAT-2024, we emphasize that we are looking for students who are interested in carrying out doctoral research in Physics, or Astronomy and Astrophysics. We hence expect prospective candidates to have a good understanding of basic Physics.

Merit List and Appointment Letter

Merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of INET and SSB interview. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit of each branch/cadre based on the availability of the number of vacancies in various branches/cadres.
