At present, there are 2 lakh B.Ed seats in 22,000 colleges in the state. Earlier, only BTC degree holder candidates were allowed to teach the primary level but now B.Ed. degree holders can also teach the primary sections. The UP B.Ed Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for providing admissions to B.Ed courses in various state government/ aided/ private institutions. Usually, the examination is conducted in March – April every year
