B.Tech Admission in Assam 2024-Selection Procedure, Counselling, Entrance Exams, Eligibility Criteria

Dispur is the capital city of this state. It shares its boundary with various states such as Bhutan, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya & many more. Assam University offers a BTech programme in three specialisations. Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Assam is responsible for conducting the B.Tech admission process for government engineering colleges in Assam. Private engineering colleges in Assam conduct their own admission process for B.Tech courses. Every year, DTE Assam conducts a state-level engineering entrance exam for B.Tech admissions in government engineering colleges across the state.

Entrance Exams

• On the basis of JEE Main 2024 (national level examination) or Assam CEE 2024 (state level examination), candidates can get admission to the B.Tech course in Assam.
• JEE Main exam is organized by the NTA. Through this exam, candidates will get admission into B.Tech & B.Arch Courses.
• For admission to IIT Institution, candidates must appear in the JEE Advanced examination. Candidates seek admission to the M.Tech course, they have to apply for the GATE 2024 examination.

Assam B.Tech Selection Procedure

• After the commencement of the entrance examinations, candidates will be eligible to appear for counseling.
• The counseling Board will take the final decision about the allotment of the suitable college for the candidates.

Assam B Tech Counselling Process 2024

DTE Assam conducts offline counselling for Assam B.Tech admissions. The candidates who filled the application form must be present at Assam Engineering Institute on the specified date along with the application process and mandatory certificates/ documents (as mentioned above). The counselling process for Assam B.Tech admissions is divided into seven stages, and the details are elaborated below –
