Diamond Harbour Women’s University is a women’s university in Diamond Harbour, West Bengal. Established in 2013, it is the state’s first women’s university which will impart education in humanities and basic sciences. Diamond Harbour Women’s University is one of the best known & the first women university of West Bengal which was started in the year 2013. The University offers various courses such as UG, PG, M.Phil & P.hD courses. The university offers extensive education in humanities and basic sciences. The university offers education in two faculties such as the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science.
Students can apply from the official site www.dhwu.ac.in. The entrance exams accepted for PhD include SET, GATE, SLET, NET, RET. Aspirants who have done their MPhil course can apply and be exempt from RET before appearing for the interview.

PhD. Admissions
UGC NET/SLET/SET/GATE or any other equivalent examination qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in RET and can appear in the interview.
M.Phil. qualified candidates (in the concerned subject) under UGC regulation 2009 would be exempted from appearing for RET and will be considered for appearing before the interview board
M.Phil. Admissions
NET/SET/SLET examination qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in the written examination.
The minimum qualifying marks for appearing in Viva-voce is 25 marks which is 50% of the total marks (5% relaxation for SC, ST, OBC/differently-abled).
DHWU Admission Process 2024
Candidates can apply for admission at Diamond Harbour Women’s University via both online and offline mode. Candidates can check the steps to apply for admission from the following points:
- The admission to Ph.D. programme would be on the basis of Research Eligibility Test (RET) and it is to be conducted by the concerned department followed by an interview for the candidates qualifying in RET.
- The candidates who have qualified NET/SLET/SET/GATE or any other equivalent examinations are exempted from RET and can appear directly in the interview.
- The candidates who have qualified M.Phil. in the subject concerned under UGC regulation 2009 would be exempted from RET and to be considered for appearing before the interview board
DHWU PG Admission Process 2024-23
- For the Diamond Harbour Women’s University registration, the candidate needs to visit the university official website.www.dhwu.ac.in
- Every year the university released the application form in May month.
- At the form submission time, the university also attaches all required documents to the application form.
- University accepts the registration fee by debit card, credit card as well as online net banking.
- The candidate takes the Rs-300/- per application form.
- The aspirants can apply online for M.A, M.Sc, and M.Com programs by visiting the official website of the university. A relaxation of 5% of total marks will be offered to state-level position holders and national-level applicants in the case of sportspersons..
