The University of Delhi (DU) in New Delhi, India, is a prestigious research institution with a large student body. How to Apply for Delhi University (DU) Admissions?
- Applicants must log on to the website and choose the correct portal.
- Register with an email id and mobile number.
- Upon receiving the credentials on the given email id, applicants can access the application form.
- They will have to fill in their educational, personal and other mandatory details.
- Choose the course option(s) carefully and submit with application fees and scanned copies of documents.
- In the case of PG / M.Phil / PhD admissions, it is advised that applicants opt for both entrance and merit options for admission.
- Applicants must use one email id per application. The applicant will have to register again if applying for more than one course.
- It is necessary to keep a copy of the application form for future reference.

PG Course
- M.Sc. (Botany): Candidates must have a degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Botany from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks.
- M.Sc. (Zoology): The candidate must have a degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Zoology/Applied Zoology from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks.
- M.Sc. (Chemistry): in B.Sc. (Hons) A chemistry degree from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks in the Main required Subjects.
- L.L.M: Candidate must have passed 3 years/ 5 Year LLB with a minimum percentage of 50% for General and 45% for OBC/SC/ST/PWD Candidate. They will get selected based on the L.L.M Entrance Test.
- M.Sc. (Geology): Degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Geology From Delhi University with a minimum requirement of 60% marks in the main required subjects. 5% Relaxation will be allotted to SC/ST/PwD candidates for the courses mentioned above. The admission process for M.SC is to be done based on the Graduation Marks and Entrance Test.
- M.Sc. (informatics): Degree in BE/BSC/B. Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a state-recognized University can do.
- M.A (Hons) Economics: The candidate should have a degree in the required subjects in the qualifying examination from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated university. For the general category students, the percentage would be 50% minimum. For the OBC and PWD candidates, it would be 45%.
- M.Com :(Admission here will decide based on the graduation Percentage) Candidate must have done under graduation in the concerned qualifying examination from DU with 65 %( which may differ under some circumstances) for General Category. It is 58.5 % for OBC candidates and 60% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD.

For UG (CUET Pattern):
- Mode of Exam: Online (CBT) mode only.
- Type of questions: The questions paper will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Medium: The exam will be in 13 languages.
- Duration:
- For Slot I will be of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
- For slot II it will be of 3 hours and 45 minutes to solve the paper.
- Number of Questions: Total 100 questions.
- Marking Scheme:
- For every correct answer: 5 marks will be awarded
- For each incorrect answer: 1 mark will be deducted
For PG (DUET Pattern):
- Mode of exam: Online mode.
- Duration: 02 hours duration.
- Type of question: Multiple Choice questions.
- Medium: The exam paper will be in English language.
- Marking scheme:
- For every correct answer: 4 marks will be awarded
- For each incorrect answer: 1 mark will be deducted
DU UG Admission 2024:
At the undergraduate level, DU provides a wide range of Honors and Program courses that are focused on a variety of academic subdisciplines. The academic disciplines of the Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Fine Arts, and Education are addressed through the available programs. The minimum requirement for admission to undergraduate programs is a high school diploma with an overall grade point average of at least 45 percent. E-counselling will come after the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) that will be administered by NTA in order to select students for admission.
DU UG Selection Criteria:
Candidates who are interested in enrolling in undergraduate programs are required to take the National Testing Agency’s Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). The candidates will be chosen through an e-counseling process that will be run by Delhi University and will be based on their CUET scores.
In addition to the CUET, applicants who wish to be considered for admission based on their performance in sports and other extracurricular activities (ECA) will be required to present themselves for a performance test. The combined score of the CUET (which accounts for 25%) and the performance test (which accounts for 75%) will be used to choose the candidates. In addition to the CUET score, certificates will also be taken into consideration for the same.
For undergraduate courses:
- BA (Hons): The candidates should have passed their class 12th exam with not less than 45% marks in aggregate. Candidates with 40% marks in aggregate are eligible if they have secured 50% marks in the concerned subject.
- B.Sc (Hons): A pass in class 12th exam with at least 45% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in the concerned subject is required.
- B.Com (Hons): Applicants need to clear their class 12th exam with Mathematics/ Business Mathematics as a subject scoring not less than 45% marks in aggregate.
- B.Tech: Candidates should have passed their class 12th exam with Mathematics as a subject and a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in any four subjects.
- LLB: Those who have cleared their class 12th examination are eligible to apply for the LLB course.
DU UG Cutoff 2024:
The CUET merit list will serve as the basis for the DU UG cutoff in 2024. Shortly after the CUET results are announced, the merit list will be distributed to the applicants. Candidates who have passed the CUET are required to register in order to participate in the online counseling procedure. Students will have the opportunity to write out their preferences for colleges on the website of the University of Delhi (DU) throughout both of the rounds of counseling that will be held. Student’s placement in institutions at the University of Delhi (DU) will be determined solely by their scores on the CUET.
DU PG Admission 2024:
In addition, postgraduate study can be pursued in a variety of fields at Delhi University, including the arts, commerce, science, and other faculties and departments. The Delhi University Entrance Test, also known as DUET, is followed by a personal interview during the admissions process for postgraduate programs at Delhi University.
In addition to its many other postgraduate programs, Delhi University also provides a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Law (PGDCSL) program that lasts for one year. This program is housed in the university’s ‘Institute of Cyber Security and Law.’ The 100 available spots in the Cyber Security Program will be filled on a merit basis, with consideration given to both the candidate’s previous academic performance and their performance in an in-person interview.
For postgraduate courses:
- MA: The candidates who have completed their BA degree in the relevant subject scoring not less than 55% marks in aggregate are eligible.
- M.Sc: A B.Sc degree in the concerned subject is required to be eligible for M.Sc degree program.
- M.Com: Applicants should hold a B.Com (Hons) or BA (Hons) degree in Economics with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for OBC/ Sports/ CW/ PWD category, passing marks for SC/ ST category). Those with B.Com/ B.Com (Program/ Pass) scoring at least 55% marks (49.5% marks for OBC category, 50% marks for Sports/ CW/ PWD category, passing marks for SC/ ST category) or BMS/ BBS/ BBA (FIA)/ BFIA/ BBE with 60% marks in aggregate (54% marks for OBC category, 55% marks for Sports/ CW/ PWD category, passing marks for SC/ ST category) are eligible too.
- M.Tech: Candidates need to hold a B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline to be eligible for M.Tech degree course.
- LLM: Those with a 3-year/ 5-year LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ CW/ PWD category) can apply for LLM.
DU MD/MS/MDS Admission 2024:
The Faculty of Medical Sciences at DU provides medical degree programs at the Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) levels. The entrance examination for NEET-PG and NEET-MDS will be used to select candidates for the fifty percent (50%) of seats reserved for Delhi University in this session. Those who are interested in gaining admission are required to submit their application forms and the required fees of INR 1500/- (or INR 1000/- for candidates who are SC, ST, or PwD) through the websites www.fmsc.ac.in and www.du.ac.in.
DU MD/MS/MDS Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have completed a year of mandatory rotating internship and passed the final MBBS exam (for MD/MS/Diploma Course) or BDS exam (for MDS Course) from Delhi University by the end of March. Additionally, students are required to present their certificate of successful completion of an internship either before or simultaneously with their appearance for counseling.
