Gulbarga University, officially known as, Kalaburagi University, is a public university located in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India. Its jurisdiction extends to the four districts namely Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur, and Yadgir district of Karnataka. Gulbarga University was established in 1980 by an Act of Karnataka State. Its jurisdiction extends to the five districts of Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur, Bellary and Koppal of Hyderabad Karnataka. Earlier it was a post-graduate centre of Karnatak University, Dharwad since 1970. The main campus is situated on a 860 acres of land, 6 kilo meters east of Gulbarga city. Vision Excellence in higher education, empowerment through knowledge, inclusive growth for socio-economic transformation and sustainable development. The Gulbarga University established Central Academic Computer Centre to cater the needs of Administrative sections and various departments. Students of Arts and Social Science Departments are given training in this center. It also provides Internet and Website facilities to all the concerned. It is situated in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It provides admission in various courses of UG Courses- B.Ed, B.P.Ed, and PG Courses- M.Ed, etc. This University is affiliated with the University Grant Commission (UGC).

M.Sc.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

M.Com.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree and passed B.Com/ B.B.M./ B.C.S. examinations or its equivalent with 50% marks and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

M.A.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

M. Ed

Eligibility Criteria: 50% marks or equivalent grade in any of the following programmes as prescribed by the NCTE and UGC. The programmes are- BA, BEd, BSc BEd, BA Ed, B EL Ed.

MBA

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

MCA.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

MJMC

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category.

M. Phil

Eligibility Criteria: A master’s degree in the allied discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.

Ph. D

Eligibility Criteria: A master’s degree in the allied discipline.

UG Courses

• Admission to all the UG programmes is based on the scores obtained in Class 12

PG Courses

• For MA, MCom, MSc, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed and M.Ed programmes, candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the University
• Admission to the rest of the PG programmes such as M.L.I.Sc, MVA and LLM is done based on the marks obtained in graduation

MPhil and Phd Course

• Candidates, for MPhil and PhD programme are done on the basis of merit in the entrance exam and marks obtained in academics. Final selection is based on the marks scored in interview round conducted by the University
• PhD aspirants with UGC NET/ UGC CSIR NET/ GATE scores are exempted from PhD entrance test. However, they have to appear for interview round

Some Important Notes about Ph.D. Admission:

• The minimum eligibility of Ph.D. program is to qualify for the Master’s degree.
• The registration fee has to be paid along with the tuition fee as per fee structure notified from time to time.
• Incomplete applications with incorrect information will be rejected by the University authority.

Gulbarga University Counselling 2023

Counseling is the last process to get admission in the university. In this process, all those students who have their names on the merit list will be called to the college or university and the officials check their documents. In counseling, the students will have to bring their Aadhar Card, and other education related documents. If any student could not attend the counseling round then his seat will be allotted to the other student.
