IIIT Bangalore M.Tech Admission 2024- PHD Applicating Form

International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT Bangalore) invites applications for its research degree programs, namely, Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science by Research. This call for admissions is for academic year 2024-24 (Term 1) starting in August 2024. For PhD and MSc Research Admissions both Full Time and Part Time programmes available.

The Institute has close ties with the IT industry, and aims to be a nodal center for world-class research in different theoretical as well as applied areas of IT. The areas of research include: Algorithms, Communication Systems, High-Performance and Highly Available Systems, Wireless and Optical Networking, Software Architecture and Engineering, Distributed Computing, Mobile Computing, Database Theory and Management, Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, Digital Signal Processing, Ad Hoc Networks, Web Information Retrieval, Information Theory, Information Security, and the Political Economy of Information Technology.

Eligibility Criteria for IIIT Bangalore PhD and MS (Research) Admission 2024

• Applicants to the Doctor of Philosophy program should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent), as well as have a good academic and, where applicable, technical track record.
• As an admission criterion placed for the Doctor of Philosophy degree by the University Grants Commission, we require applicants to take either a national entrance examination, as specified by concerned research domains, or a domain-specific entrance examination at IIIT Bangalore before the interview.
• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B.E., B.Tech. or equivalent degree in ECE/CS/IT) is required for the MSR program, and a Master’s degree in engineering (M.E., M.Tech. or equivalent in ECE/CS/IT/Networking/Communication/Signal Processing) is required for the PhD program.
• Candidates who have appeared and qualified in a national entrance test (CSIR-UGC NET, UGC-NET, GATE or JEST examination) may be exempt from taking a written test at IIIT Bangalore.M. Phil candidates can also apply for the Doctor of Philosophy program.

: A valid GATE score in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering
Selection Process: Admission will be based on the performance in GATE

IIIT Bangalore offers scholarships in two categories, namely merit-based and need-based.

• The merit-based scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic achievements as a monthly stipend renewed based on the students’ academic performance
• The need-based scholarships are awarded based on the financial requirements and it covers the tuition in its entirety (full scholarship) or partially (half scholarship) along with a monthly stipend
