Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is a public technical and research university established by the Government of India, located in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India. It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India. The institute was considered the Institute of National Significance by the Government of India. Currently, IIT Guwahati provides many engineering courses on various levels such as UG, PG, and Ph.D. stages through its 11 bureaus and 5 academic centers. The IIT Guwahati students not only excel in academics but also in cultural, extracurricular, sports, and social activities and events. The institute has a Sports Complex which has an indoor sports stadium with synthetic squash courts, table tennis, badminton, and gymnasium. It has a swimming pool with  8 lanes.

A minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology as the main subjects.

10+2 in any stream from a recognized board

M.Tech
BE/ B.Tech in the relevant discipline with 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate

M.Des
Bachelor’s degree for the duration of four years or equivalent in Engineering/ Design/ Architecture or Interior Design with 55% (50% for SC/ST/ PWD) marks. OR Diploma in Design from NID

• For admission in B.Tech and B.E programs, the candidate is required to clear JEE Advanced for B.Tech programme while UCEED for the B.Des programme.

• B.Tech students need to appear for JoSAA counselling

• To get admission in M.Tech/M.E or M.Des  in IIT Guwahati, the aspirants have to qualify GATE exam for M.tech while CEED for M.Des programme.

• If  selected, they will then have to proceed with the fee payment and get admitted to the respective programme.

IIT Guwahati MA Selection Process 2024

The selection process for MA at IIT Guwahati includes the candidates appearing for the entrance examinations conducted by IIT Guwahati. Along with the written test, the candidate will also be required to sit for an interview that is also conducted by the college. The selection of the candidates is based on his/ her performance in written test and interview conducted by IIT Guwahati. The previous academic record of the candidates will be also considered during the final selection.
