Institute of Chemical Technology is a public deemed university in Mumbai, India. The institute also has campuses at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and Jalna, Marathwada. It is focused on training and research in fields of chemical engineering, chemical technology, and pharmacy. The idea was to ensure that education should not be understood as merely an instrument to build knowledge, but it must also play a pivotal role in creating a better and more humane society. Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing.

Admission to B. Tech and B. Pharm Programs
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech are required to appear in and qualify MHT CET or JEE Main examination.
- MHT CET stands for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test conducted to ensure admission to B. Tech.
- For admission to B. Pharm, the candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in MHT CET.
- Admission to Integrated M. Tech (Chemical Engineering) is done based on candidates’ performance in MHT CET or JEE Main examination.
- For admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the university, almost 70% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Maharashtra state.
Undergraduate Programs
- For admission to B. Tech, the candidates must have passed senior secondary school with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Admission to B. Pharm requires a pass in Senior Secondary School in Science stream.
- Candidates seeking admission to Integrated M. Tech (Chemical Engineering) must have passed senior secondary school with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
