Osmania University: UG/PG: Osmania University is located in Hyderabad, India which was established in 1918. It is the third oldest university in Southern India which was named after the seventh and last Nizam of Hyderabad. Osmania University provides education in various domains including programs like B.A, B.Sc., B.B.A, BCA, BSW, and BBM.  Candidates who have completed 10+2 can apply for these courses. In Hyderabad, Telangana, India, there is a collegiate public state institution called Osmania University. In 1918, Mir Osman Ali Khan, the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, established the institution and gave it his name. It was the first university to be founded in the former Kingdom of Hyderabad and is the third-oldest in all of southern India. It was the first institution in India to offer English as a required course while also offering Urdu as a language of teaching. In 2012, the institution was home to 3,700 students from more than 80 different countries.

• Aspirants can follow these simple steps to apply for the UG courses.
• Candidates can apply by filling the online application form available on the website “http://dost.cgg.gov.in”
• Candidates can register themselves to the UG courses by submitting the registration fee of INR 200/-
• Candidates can pay the registration fees through Credit Card / Debit Card or Net Banking.
• Candidates are advised to take the printout of filled in the online application form.
• Candidates must upload the following documents along with the filled-in application form:
• For Intermediate Students of Telangana :
• Intermediate Hall Ticket Number.
• AADHAR Card Number.
• Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking facility to pay the admission fee.
• Recent passport size photo. (Scanned photo not more than 100 Kb.).
• You need a valid mobile number.
• Caste Certificate Number issued by MEESEVA (If applying under any reservation).

Application form Fee

• The registration fee for a single subject is Rs. 500/- for OC/BC candidates.
• The registration fee for a single subject is Rs. 375/- for SC/ST/PH candidates.
• For each additional subject, the fee is Rs. 300/- for all categories.
• The fee may be paid through a payment gateway (Credit / Debit Cards/Net Banking).
• The fee can also be paid at any TS/AP online centers.

• Diploma Programs: Functional Hindi and translation, translation in Arabic, Museology, Archival science and manuscriptology, French, German, Persian, Arabic, Digital information system, Psychological counselling, International business trade and so on.
• Undergraduate programs (UG): BA, LLB, B.Ed, B.Com, B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharma, BBA, BCA, BHMCT, BSW, BCACT, BHATM, BFA and so on.
• Postgraduate programs (PG): M.A, M.Sc, MSW, MCA, M.Com, M.Ed, M.Pharma, MFC, M.Phil, M.E, M.Tech, LLM etc.
• Ph.D program: Physics, Geophysics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Urdu etc

Eligibility

The eligibility criterion of the BA/B.Sc/BBA/BCA/BSW/BBM/BFA courses is mentioned below:

For B.A (Hons/Prog)  and B.Com. (Hons/Prog):
Cleared the +2 Intermediate Examination of A.P. or +2 Examinations recognized as equivalent.

For BSW:
Candidates must have passed two year’s intermediate examination or recognized 10+2 examination with an aggregate of at least 40% marks. For SC/ST students, passing marks are sufficient for admission.

For B.Sc.
Cleared 10+2 Examination from a recognized institution with an aggregate of 40%marks (pass percentage for SC &ST candidates) in the concerned Science subjects i.e, Physical Sciences & Mathematics group OR Physical Sciences & Biological Sciences.

For B.Tech

• Candidates must have cleared their 10+2 education from a recognized institute with PCM.
• Candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh.

M.A

• Graduation degree in relevant subjects.
• Minimum 40% marks (passing marks for SCs/STs) secured in qualifying exam.

M.C.J

• Graduation degree in  Bachelor of Journalism and Communication.
• Minimum score secured should be 40% marks in aggregate.

M.S.W

• Any Graduation degree is eligible for the programme.
• Minimum criteria of score is 40%marks in aggregate.

M.Com

• B.Com degree in any stream.
• Must have secured minimum 40% marks in aggregate.

M.F.C

• B.Com degree in any stream.
• Minimum 40% score should be secured.

MBA

• Bachelor’s degree with Maths as a subject.
• Minimum 40% should be secured.

MHM (Hotel Management)

• Any graduate can apply for admission in MHM.

MMS (Defence)

•  All Armed Forces with a Bachelor Degree sponsored by Government of India Deference Service.
• MPM (Police Management)
• IPS probationers undergoing training at SVPNPA .

M.Ed

• Passed B.Ed degree from any Recognised University.

M.E

• A pass in B.E. of Osmania University in the concerned discipline or its equivalent.

AMIE/AMIETE or similar qualifications recognized by O.U. as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech.

M.Tech

• A pass in B.Tech/B.E Chemical Engineering.
•  GATE qualification is mandatory.

M.Pharma

• A pass in B.Pharmacy degree 
• Qualified the GATE with 55%. 

LL.M

• Candidates should have passed and secured a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate in LL.B.
• A pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities 

MCA

• Passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination. 
• Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam.
• Mathematics subject in qualifying exam is not mandatory.

Reservation

85% of total intake is reserved for the local applicants with valid residence proof.

Remaining 15% of intakes are of the candidates belonging to other states.

Exam Pattern:

• The examination timings will be 90 minutes.
• The exam will be commenced only in the English language.
• There will be a total of 100 questions in the examination.
• The exam will be for 100 marks.
• There will be Objective type questions in the examination.

Admission Process BE, BTech

Admission to UG Engineering and Technology courses (BE, BTech, etc) is granted on the basis of marks scored in EAMCET. 

Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST category need passing marks in 10+2 from a recognized board/council to get admission in any of the courses mentioned above.

In case, of admission to the BCA course, students with Mathematics at an intermediate level will get preference.

Reservation

In each course, 85% of seats are reserved for the local category candidates. Remaining 15% seats are filled by local and non local candidates.

Osmania University admission 2024 – Admit card

The hall ticket will be available on the official website of the University. Candidates need to download their admit card and keep a printout copy of it for future use. They need to paste a passport sized photograph on the space provided in the hall ticket and get it attested by a gazetted officer or principal of school/college. Candidates must bring the admit card to the exam venue or else they won’t be allowed to appear in the exam. The admit card should not be damaged otherwise it will be considered invalid.

Exam Result:

The examination result will be provided via online mode. It will be released in the first week of July 2021. Candidates can check the result using a user ID and password. There will no proviso like post or courier for receiving the exam result. Make sure to take the print out of the result for further reference.
