Candidates fulfilling the eligibility for the various postgraduate programs offered by the SSUS are called upon to appear for an entrance examination which is conducted in the month of May for each academic session. The purpose of the entrance examination is to assess the candidate’s interest in the subject for which he/she has applied for. It is of maximum 100 marks and 2 hours in duration. The weightage assigned to the entrance examination for the selection process is 10%.

Encouraging Sanskrit Studies under UG Programme:
- This scholarship is for undergraduate Sanskrit students only
- It is given to the first year to final year BA Sanskrit students
- The rate of scholarship shall be Rs 500 per month w.e.f. 2018 admission
- The scholarship duration is for 3 years
- Scholarship shall be payable for 10 months in a year excluding semester break
- The scholarship shall be disbursed on a monthly basis
- Students obtaining a minimum of 75 per cent or above attendance in a month are eligible for the scholarship
- If the student discontinues the BA programme after receiving the scholarship, he/she should refund the amount received from the University before obtaining transfer certificate and other certificates
- All BA Sanskrit students are eligible for this scholarship however any of the students who have already availing scholarship from the University under strengthening of Sanskrit can opt for any one of these two scholarships that is beneficial to them
SSUS Scholarship Details 2024
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories do not have to pay the tuition fee under the Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
- They do not have to pay for the examination fee as well as per the grant of concession issued by the SC/ST department of Government of Kerala.
- They must have to pay the other fees according to the prescribed fee structure.
- It is also mandatory for them to submit the application form for concession of fee as mentioned in the form to avail the fee exemption immediately during admission.
- The university provides concessions under KPCR only to the eligible candidates.
- Those who claim fee exemption/concession must produce the required proof during admission.
