Tumkur University was established in 2004 in Tumkuru, Karnataka, India. It was carved out of Bangalore University to accommodate the needs of the students from Tumkuru district. It is a state University which is accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ Grade. The University has been successful in being recognized as an Institute of National Eminence by the UGC. Recently, the university has been rated as a ‘Three Star’ institution under the Karnataka State Universities Rating Framework (KSURF) released by the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, Bengaluru.

The university offers admission to PG level courses in different streams. Tumkur University admissions are offered to P.G.D, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.S.W, M.Com (IS), M.B.A and M.C.A. Tumkur University PhD Admission 2024

Tumkur University PhD admission is done on the basis of an entrance test, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round at the university.

• Candidates who have cleared UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ SLET/ KSET/ GATE or teaching fellowship are exempted from the written test
• In case, candidates who have qualified the above-mentioned exams and still wish to give the entrance exam can do so by filling Form A (given at the university website)

Eligibility for UG and PG Course

MSW

• Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with minimum 45% aggregate from a recognised university

MCA

• Eligibility Criteria:Candidates must hold a BCA degree with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised university

MCom

• Eligibility Criteria:Candidates must hold a BCom/ BCom (CS)/ BBA/ BBM from a recognised university with atleast 50% aggregate

MCom (IS)/MBA

• Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised university

MSc

• Eligibility Criteria:Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognised university and score atleast 40% in all subjects and 50% in the related/cognate subject

MA

• Eligibility Criteria:Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in English and scored 50% aggregate with 40% in all subjects
• Or candidates must hold a BA, BSc or BCom degree and score atleast 55% aggregate from a recognised university

B.com/ BBM

• Eligibility 10+2 Graduation

B. Sc M. Sc
