  • Though they’re available in the Premium plan, Sony doesn’t support game tryouts on the PC.

One interesting addition is a question about save files. “It is currently not possible to transfer your save data from the PS4 or PS5 version to the PC version of a PlayStation Studios title,” the site notes, although this leaves the door open to a potential feature.

Setting Up the PS4 System

  1. Navigate to your PS4’s Settings.
  2. Click on Remote Play Connection Settings and then click on the Enable Remote Play checkbox. This will enable PS4 to interact with the software that you have just installed on your computer.
  3. Go back and select Account Management from the PS4’s Settings menu.
  4. After that, set the PS4 system as your primary system. You can do that by selecting Activate as Your Primary PS4 and then clicking on Activate.

Sign up for a PSN account and subscribe to PS Now

You’ll also need to subscribe to PS Now. To do so, head to the PlayStation Now website and click ‘Start your trial’. This gives you seven days of PS Now for free, which is a good opportunity to make sure your internet connection is up to the task of streaming PlayStation games.

Set Up ‘PS Remote Play’ on Your Mac or PC

• Go to Sony’s website to download the Remote Play onto the device you want to use.

• Select the operating system, Mac or PC.

• Follow the on-screen instructions to install.

• Launch Remote Play while your PlayStation console is on (or in rest mode).

How to Use Remote Play

Step 1: Turn on your PS4. and enabled Remote Play for that mode.

Step 2: Pair your computer with your controller by using the DUALSHOCK USB wireless adaptor.

Step 3: Launch the previously installed PS4 Remote Play software on your computer.
