Disconnect any cables from your iPhone first, otherwise you’ll put it back in Recovery mode. Then follow the steps below to force restart your iPhone.

Delete Previous Update File

One of the reasons why your iPhone is stuck on preparing an update screen is that the downloaded update is corrupted. Something went wrong while you were downloading the update and that caused the update file not to remain intact. In this case, it is the update file that is causing your iPhone to stay stuck on a screen.

  • Open the Settings app > Click General.
  • Tap on the option that says iPhone Storage to view your iPhone’s storage details.
  • Find your iOS 16 update file, tap on it, and select Delete Update on the following screen. The update file will be removed from your device.
  • You then need to head into Settings > General > Software Update to redownload the update to your iPhone.

Check Network Conditions

There are various reasons why your iPhone has network issues. It may be that there is an issue with your router. In that case, you will need to fix your router to get the Internet working on your iPhone. It may also be that the network settings are not properly configured on your iPhone. Also, you or someone else may have changed these settings and they are now causing the issue on your phone.

  • Access the Settings app > Open General.
  • Tap on Reset to view the reset settings for your device.
  • Hit the Reset Network Settings option to reset all your network settings.

Update with iTunes:.

Some error codes arise when updating with iTunes, such as error 4013, 8, 51, 21, 2, etc.

Click on “iPad storage”.

You can see the remaining capacity at the top this interface. It is recommended to reserve at least 1GB.

I just bought and used the standard mode to try recover my phone. In the end only a bit more than half of my data seemed to came back, but only less than half of my photos and videos came back which made me quite annoyed by the fact that not all of my data came back. It says that when I use this program, there will be no risk of data loss, so why didn’t all my photos came back? I thought the standard program would just revert everything back to normal and fix the problems without risk of losing anything.

Well I mean for something to work, there is always a price, all of the developers that make apps similar to this make you purchase before you can even attempt to restore. You should allow people to fix their device and then make sure it works. I mean it worked for me because I purchased a license, no escaping having to lose all your data but I am just glad my iPhone works again.
