The Dell Vostro 5402 business laptop comes from a strange place in the wide range of Dell laptops. The Vostro doesn’t garner the interest that the XPS or Latitude range does. For example, We review almost every iteration of the Dell XPS 15 lineup that comes out. But the Vostro machines have a clear and distinct purpose as a portable for smaller businesses who might find the Latitude offerings to be too much computer for their needs. The Vostro 5402 has a chassis that reminds us of Dell’s premium sub-brand the XPS series. A gunmetal color scheme (called Ice Gray) gives it an upmarket feel – little details that do have their importance when it comes to perception. Mind you

Personal laptop to use for home finance and bookkeeping – later used for school for my daughter. Great machine!
I have not used the product myself but Dell is trusted brand. I prefer not to beleive those comments and visit store on your own and check the device yourself, buy only if you are satisfied.

If possible visit nearest Dell store and ask if it’s available now or when will be available. Do not hurry to buy latest laptop. Prices vary too much and you will end up paying more money .

Sure one BIOS update might fix all of these issues, but do you really want to depend on that, especially if Dell has not issued a deadline by when they will release the said update. Get a device which works out of the box and not one that needs an update immediately out of the box.
