How to fix Settings app not working in Windows?

 Fix Corrupt Windows Files

Go to Start and search for “cmd“.

Right-click on cmd and choose “Run as Administrator“.

Type sfc /scannow and hit enter on the keyboard.

What to Do If You Cannot Open Settings on Windows 10

  • Scan your computer for viruses and other malware. Completely delete all the infected files and uninstall the compromised programs from your system.
  • Uninstall apps that you don’t use or you don’t need.

Enable Settings App via Registry Editor

  • In the Start menu, type regedit and open the Registry Editor
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\
  • Right-click Policies, then click NewKey and rename it Explorer
  • Right-click an empty area in the right-hand pane then press New, DWORD (32-bit) Value and call it NoControlPanel
  • Double-click NoControlPanel, and set the Value data to 0

Perform A System Restore

  • Open the Run command (Windows key + R).
  • Type system.cpl, then press the Enter button.
  • The System Properties window will open.
  • Click the System Restore button and click OK.
