Apex Legends Summer Sundown Event not Tracking Progress on most game modes, issue acknowledged

Apex Legends is a popular first-person shooter that was originally published in 2019 and was developed by Respawn Entertainment. Since its release, Apex Legends has been ported to a wide variety of desktops and game consoles. Apex Legends is a hero shooter arena game that was developed specifically to compete with other major titles in the genre, such as Overwatch. After then, a battle royale mode was added to the game in order to compete with other games such as Fortnite.

In addition, Apex Legends is a free-to-play game, which means that you are not required to pay any money in order to test it out. The fact that it does not require a very high level of computer hardware makes its dissemination much simpler. It is often getting new events and challenges added to it, which helps to keep the community engaged and active. The ‘Summer Sundown’ event is something that players can participate in right now in the game. However, users of Apex Legends are seeing a problem in which the “Summer Sundown” event does not properly track progress on the majority of the game modes.

What is Apex Legends:

Apex Legends is a multiplayer online battle royale hero shooter game that was created by Respawn Entertainment and is published and distributed by Electronic Arts. In February of 2019, the game became available for free on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, players on Nintendo Switch had to wait until March of 2021, and players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S had to wait until March of 2022. On May 20, 2022, the mobile version of the game, which is branded as Apex Legends Mobile and designed to work best with touchscreens, became available for download on Android and iOS devices. The only exceptions to this rule are the mobile platforms, which have already been mentioned. The game enables users to compete against each other across numerous platforms. The Titanfall video game series, which was created and is currently being released by Respawn Entertainment, and Apex Legends both take place in the same science fiction setting. Several characters from the Titanfall series make cameo appearances in Apex Legends, either as minor characters or as playable Legends.

There have been many reports indicating that the progress tracking for the ‘Summer Sundown’ event is not working as expected. The issue can be seen in virtually all game modes, with the exception of battle royale. Therefore, you won’t be able to accomplish the event goals if you participate in any of the other game types (such as the Arena).

Why is the Summer Sundown broken for Arenas?

“Two of three trackers that are stated to apply to arenas do not incur points for the free event. Where points are received for opening supply bins there are no points for matches played and damage done. In the event, there is a message saying “It doesn’t matter if it’s in Battle Royal or an Arena,” well it does matter because if you were just to play Arena all week you would not receive enough points for the Clutch holo spray.”

What’s the deal with the event challenges not being updated?

I did over 1500 damage in my last game, played two games, and opened a few supply bins. None of these are shown in the Summer Sundown Event tracker. I’m legit gonna lose my mind”, remarked one of the players of Apex Legends.

Is the Summer Sundown event only tracking progress in battle royale?

The staff at Respawn Entertainment has already been made aware of the problem. However, the fix for the bug won’t be available immediately.

“Heads up, legends: all of the challenges on the @PlayApex Summer Sundown reward tracker are currently only counting Battle Royale match progress. Unfortunately, this will not be fixed before its end on July 12, so we apologize for the inconvenience”, Respawn Entertainment said in a statement.

Unfortunately, it seems that the actual configuration of live events in Apex Legends does not allow for hotfixes to be transmitted while the event is in progress. Meanwhile, playing the event’s battle royale mode is your only option for acquiring the bonus items.
